Goal & Mission This website was first conceived in June 2011 and launched on 1 July 2011 with the primary objective of dispelling the widespread wrong notion on Homosexuality and Sexual Behaviour, prevalent even among many Theravada Buddhism authors. Buddhawords.com is therefore set-up to educate the general public worldwide, especially all Buddhists, the true Dharma and Right View of all phenomena (including sexual misconduct) based on the Buddha's wise quotes in over 100 Mahayana Sutras and key Treatises --- that currently all non-Buddhists and most Buddhists are generally unaware of. The supreme, all-knowing Buddha had repeatedly warned the people that it is extremely difficult to reborn as human, partly because it is extremely easy for all people to commit many sins everyday, without even realizing it. Almost all people, including most Buddhists, are unaware that many of their deeds are actually sinful that will cause them upon death, to end-up in the three evil realms, that is the Hell, Hungry Ghosts and Animals. This website's bilingual Dharma content thus serves to help millions of people globally realize their mistakes, repent and clear their sinful karma as soon as possible. Buddhawords.com also aims to steer all believers towards leading a present-life that is virtuous, wholesome, happy, peaceful, meaningful and praise-worthy; that will result in blissful, enriching and rewarding future lives. May all people worldwide be wise enough to believe the Buddha's teachings; really practice it well and aspire to become a Bodhisattva or a Buddha ultimately. Copyright? The Buddha’s teachings are the best and the wisest. Imposing ‘Copyright’ or ‘all rights reserved’ on His Dharma run contrary to both the Buddha’s altruistic wishes and His teachings on compassion, selflessness, generosity, unconditional sharing of the Dharma gift with all people as opposed to Dharma possessiveness or transaction; and cultivation to free oneself from one's desire for fame, recognition, rewards or money. Most importantly, the Buddha is the sole, rightful owner of all His Dharma, regardless of the translated language. Just imagine what will the Buddha say about authors and translators insisting on Copyright for their publication of His Dharma? May all Buddhism authors and translators be careful not to commit any Dharma plagiarism by presenting the Buddha's teachings as one's original Copyright work. Dharma plagiarism is similar to stealing openly from the Buddha and must be avoided. By imposing Copyright, one might gain protection, fame, reputation, recognition, credit, praises and perhaps even money for one's high-quality Dharma work. But such worldly self-benefits are superficial, transient and unimportant; compared to one's karmas and retribution in future lives. In the Jatila Sutta (Ud 6.2 Ascetics), the Buddha had warned that “One should not make the Dharma a trade.” May all Buddhism authors and translators be wise enough to remove their Copyright from all their Dharma publication? On the other hand, enthusiastic online or printed re-production of substantial Dharma work done by others, without acknowledging their source is a total disregard of the intellectual property or unkind disregard of the author/translator's effort.
